ATTRACTION

Habeeair

"My skin wants your skin
next to me."

"Attraction!"
Just the word
catches my attention,
softens my heart,
opens my skin.
It is a magnetism.

I want to close my eyes and fly,
and be pulled into your being!
to seek your scent, your hands, your skin, the feeling of becoming,
being a soul dancing
out of time and space,
while still being here, there:
Two and at the same time
One.

What makes me follow
with my sight those steps
of the one that suddenly got to me?
His eyes? His look? His hair? His smile?

Where does it come from
the strength of the mountains
that, with its great magnetism,
makes me climb on to the top?
While on the way I revel among the trees, the grass, the blossoms,
the songs of the birds.
And on the mountain
there alone
I commune
and breathe
and I feel One
with the moment
with the eternal sacred place
as in orgasmic pleasure?

What makes me admire
the defined muscles of the fellow
climber, or the hiker hiking shirtless,
the swimmer, the surfer,
anyone, everyone?

And why am I aroused in spirit
just looking at a kiss?
A kiss! Oh consummation
of the attracted men!

Why does my heart leap
when I see those lips,
or those white teeth
shining in a smile that calls me
come and savor, come to my heart . . . ?

Why do I stiffen
calling for my hands,
your hands,
their hands?

Why do I boil,
and thirst
when I feel this body of mine
that has been made to be with . . .
to be with Nature . . .
to be with friend . . .
to be with me?

"Oh soul that calls for my body

Oh body that calls for my soul!"

Where does it come from
this magnetism
that gives me such joy?

My heart beats faster,
my blood surges.

And where does it come from
this magnetism
that makes me long
to merge my soul
intimately
with a different me,
that wants to be
the same with you,
together in sharing intimate?

Is it the power of the stars
where we come from
that wants to join back again
after that ancient, grand explosion that tore it all apart but in the process
created all this beauty that's around us,
that's the beauty that is you and me?"

It is the stars.

We are continuing their inscrutable way
of explosion and implosion
within us . . .
sometimes in the mind,
or the skin, or the lips, or the eyes,
or the deep places of the body,
soul, and heart . . .

For when I am attracted
to that man who fascinates me so,
I feel then that need for rejoining,
and that need makes my
soul, body, heart expand
and strive to return to be starlight
once again.

Dear Readers...
about rate changes

As a reader-written journal, White Crane truly belongs to its readership. Throughout its history we have prided ourselves on maximum transparency with our reader-community. We want to share with you where we are and why we've taken the step of increasing the price of White Crane. While we have not raised the subscription price in the last two years, postal increases and the rising costs of printing the journal have moved us to increase the rates. White Crane's cover price will be going up to $6 beginning with the Winter issue. A year's subscription will be $22 (continuing the long tradition of giving a $2 break off the newsstand price to subscribers). You can save even more with a two year subscription.

Foreign Subscribers Due to increases in postage, foreign rates will increase as well. We currently have subscribers in Australia, Africa & Europe. A five ounce issue costs $4.40 to Australia; $4.00 to Europe. If a domestic subscription is $22, then subscribers are paying $5.50 for the magazine. $4.00 for postage would make a subscription $9 an issue (so $36 a year, it's now $34). A single issue international would be $10. For more infoimation about the new rates, see the back cover.

We have many new things planned for White Crane. Right now White Crane just covers its production and distribution costs. We are currently finalizing our not-for-profit status. This will allow us to raise funding through grants and tax-deductible gifts. The overall aim is to raise White Crane's visibility and grow its readership. We hope that you have enjoyed the changes we've made to the publication. If you are not currently a subscriber to White Crane, we hope you'll consider the value of the journal you hold in your hands and subscribe. White Crane is unique in its presentation of the myriad paths of gaiety on the wide landscapes of spirituaity and religion. It vitally depends on you for your insights and writings and to spread the word about the journal to those who need its shared wisdom.

We invite you to let us know what you think. Email us at WhtCraneJoumal@aol.com
