Justice is love correcting that which revolts against love. MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR.

Whenever I stay in a hotel I always check to see if they have a Gideon Bible, and if they do I tear out a page... I turn to Leviticus 18:22 and rip out that page which is directed against homosexuals; it is one of the Leviticus Laws... Helps me to get to sleep better, I'll say that much. IAN MCKELLEN

When I speculate on the need to create unity from our diversity I think that principles, rights or truths held in common might serve a movement of gay men intent on liberation in their myriad ways. For me that liberation has meant and must continue to mean the freedom to do more than simply survive. FRANKLIN ABBOTT

In an expanding universe, time is on the side of the outcast. Those who once inhabited the suburbs of human contempt find that without changing their address they eventually live in the metropolis. QUENTIN CRISP

HEY, HURRAY! At this stage we realize that the universe is not a heavy, gravitational mosaic of stellar-stones or solar-fusion-furnaces, but a web of radiant information. E=mc2; and energy is not Newtonian force-work, but bits of fast-moving decipherable intelligence. Reality is moving pictures filtered through a wide-lens brain, and God (i.e., you) directs the action, writes the script, selects the locations, casts the players, arranges the distribution and promotion. TIMOTHY LEARY

So for us, taking refuge means that we feel the way to live is to cut the ties, to cut the umbilical cord and alone start the journey of being fully human, without confirmation from others. . . . my whole life is a process of learning how to make friends with myself. PEMA CHÖDRÖN

Look at you, you madman,
Screaming you are thirsty
And are dying in a desert
When all around you
there is nothing but water! KABIR

You wander from room to room
Hunting for the diamond necklace
That is already around your neck! RUMI

When it is dark enough, you can see the stars. RALPH WALDO EMERSON

There is a woe that is wisdom, a woe that is madness. HERMAN MELVILLE

The only way to make a man worthy of love is by loving him. THOMAS MERTON

A swami friend of mine told me it was harder for homosexuals to enter the gates of heaven. I replied, “Especially if you keep them shut.” BOY GEORGE ON HIS INVOLVEMENT WITH KRISHNA

Laughter is by definition healthy. DORIS LESSING

Beware of the New Age fundamentalists. They are no different from other fundamentalists. Wolves in sheeps’ clothing, only their clothing is tie-dyed. BOB BARZAN

It is through the truthful exercising of the best of human qualities - respect for others, honesty about ourselves, faith in our ideals - that we come to life in God's eyes. It is how our soul, as a nation and as individuals, is revealed. BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN
